Priorities for a Second Term
Protecting the Quality of Education:
I am committed to ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education by maintaining rigorous academic standards, and providing a well rounded education including the sciences, the arts and career technical education. We must prioritize faculty development, and enhancing student support services.
Address the Hispanic Student Achievement Gap:
For a Hispanic serving institution it is critical to develop and improve upon our efforts at programs and support services targeted at closing the Hispanic student achievement gap, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed and thrive academically.
Develop a 21st Century Workforce:
It’s critical to develop innovative workforce programs that align with current industry demands. We must strengthen our apprenticeship, certificate and career technical education programs to provide our students with the skills and training necessary to excel in a rapidly evolving job market.
Grow Opportunities for Dual and Concurrent Enrollment with Feeder Districts:
Expanding dual and concurrent enrollment programs with our feeder districts will give high school students a head start on their college education, saving time and money while fostering a college-going culture.
Modernizing Our Facilities to Provide State-of-the-Art Learning Environments:
Investing in the modernization of our campus facilities will create state-of-the-art learning environments that inspire and support our students' academic and personal growth. This will require a new facilities bond which we are projecting for 2026.
Expand Opportunities to the Eastern Portion of the District:
Equity and access require that we look for opportunities for expansion of educational programs and services to the eastern portion of our district, providing all students access to quality education regardless of their location.
Grow Opportunities for Veterans and Service Members and Their Families:
Supporting our veterans and their families is crucial; we will enhance programs and services tailored to their unique needs, facilitating their transition to academic and civilian success.
Ensure that Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility is Embedded in Everything We Do:
We are dedicated to embedding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) principles into all aspects of our institution, fostering an environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.
